THE LANCASHIRE POEMS CD Out Now!
One from the archives - Dean's poem To The Mountain to Freedom, which featured in the Summer Special issue of Kindred Spirit Magazine a couple of years ago.
Roll on summer...
We wanted reminding just what summer feels like!
Here in the UK it does rain...quite a lot...in summer this can be lovely (as Dean attests to in the poem)...in winter, however, the novelty of freezing wind...combined with icy rain pin-pricking any exposed skin...does starts to wear a little thin...
Roll on Summer!
IN A GALLERY SOMEWHERE...
His love of visiting art galleries has taken Dean across two continents...this picture obviously caught his attention. He has no idea which gallery this might be...our best guess is this artistic visit occurred some time around 2005 and the location of which will have to remain a mystery...
The manipulation of image fascinates Dean. Currently his creativity finds him exploring the outer edges of artistic expression, he feels this is taking him right back to his collages of the mid-1990's...look out for a major announcement on the website before the end of January!
Back in 2006 Dean finally got see Dali's The Persistence of Memory in NYC. The outcome of which turned out to be not quite as he anticipated...having been an admirer of Dali since his teens, Dean felt the time had come to leave dear Salvador in his past.
As a final homage upon his return home, Dean created this quick pencil sketch...to then bid adiós once and for all to Dali-esque influences impinging upon his art.
